I decided to join the SMART Heroes program because I liked what they had to offer and I enjoy working with my hands. I enjoyed working with metal and forming it into duct work. It was challenging and fun at the same time. As my service obligation was coming to an end, I decided that the apprenticeship was a good fit for me to start a new career. The discipline I learned in the military has helped me in the sheet metal industry. I would recommend the Smart Heroes program because it is a good transition for a military servicemember who likes to work hard, learn on the fly and earn sufficient income.
