The friendly environment in the SMART Heroes program and consistent projects helped me succeed in the program. Also having other military members in the class is helpful because we all have a common view. As a mechanic in the Navy, my experience gave me a mechanical mindset that is beneficial to the sheet metal industry like how to measure out systems and parts. I think it’s great to learn a craft like sheet metal that seems to always have a need.
